The Lyric Theatre – one of Sydney’s Best
The Lyric Theatre, located in Sydney, Australia, is one of the most popular theatres in the country. With a rich (though brief) history, the theatre has hosted glorious theatre productions, numerous operas and ballet companies from around the world. From classical musicals to rock concerts, the Lyric Theatre offers visitors to the region one of the most beautiful and exciting experiences in entertainment.
Even though it’s only 10 years old, the Lyric Theatre has made its mark in Australia. It’s a live stage theatre that offers premium live entertainment venues. Today, the Lyric Theatre is only one component of a complex called Star City. It hosts both local as well as international events and is credited with some of the best acoustics in the country. The interior design is comfortable, friendly, and intimate, and graced with a huge stage and an orchestra pit. It’s been called one of the best commercial theatres in the entire country for a variety of venues including ballet, plays, operas and all types of music events.
Plenty of entertainers agree, including those who have performed their: Michael Crawford (Phantom of the Opera) Tony Bennett, and Julio Iglesias. Seating 2,000 guests, the theatre is usually packed. It also caters to those with special needs, being wheelchair- and hearing-impaired friendly.
The building is relatively new, and its glass-front structure is striking. Its whimsical design is ultra-modern in appearance, surrounded by well-groomed lawns and mature trees. The glass and stone structure and its design has captivated the interest of many visitors standing outside while waiting for their favorite venues.
The Lyric Theatre is located in New South Wales in downtown Sydney, owned by the Foundation Entertainment Group, who have put on productions including Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, We Will Rock You, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, just to name a few.
The theatre is fun, whimsical, and offers visitors of all ages and excellent experience in sound and design. If you’re visiting Sydney, Australia, take the opportunity to see what’s playing at the Lyric. Chances are, you won’t be disappointed.
Although relatively young, the theater is fast gaining a reputation of putting on some of the biggest and best productions in the nation. Domestic as well as international visitors of the Lyric Theatre have spread the word about its sound, design, and venues. For such a young theatre, the Lyric has quickly joined the ranks of world-class entertainment venues, and with good reason.
